Jaguar is undergoing a complete transformation, decisively pivoting away from internal combustion and hybrid powertrains to become an exclusively electric automaker. In a recent comprehensive interview, Jaguar CEO Rawdon Glover definitively stated that the brand will not produce hybrid vehicles, focusing entirely on a fully electric lineup. Addressing common consumer concerns regarding range anxiety, Glover noted that the upcoming generation of Jaguar EVs will target a range of approximately 700 kilometers, establishing a new standard for the brand.

The spearhead of this new era is the upcoming electric GT, scheduled for an official global reveal this September. Recent teasers of the GT's interior indicate a radical departure from Jaguar's traditional design language. The cabin adopts a highly minimalist, futuristic aesthetic, dominated by a large curved display and a near-complete absence of conventional physical buttons or analog gauges. The steering wheel features an unconventional thick-spoked design with large touch-sensitive areas. Furthermore, traditional stalks have been replaced by square modules behind the wheel, managing lighting and driving modes.

Technologically, the four-door GT sedan will be built on the dedicated Jaguar Electric Architecture. While the vehicle carries a substantial curb weight of around 2,700 kg, it is equipped with a tri-motor setup producing an impressive 986 horsepower and 1,300 Nm of torque. Despite these high-performance metrics, early indications suggest the engineering focus is on delivering smooth, progressive acceleration rather than raw, aggressive track performance, aligning with Jaguar’s redefined luxury identity.
