The Shenxing 3 is a highly advanced lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery that boasts unprecedented charging speeds. According to CATL, this battery can charge from 10% to an astonishing 98% capacity in just 6 minutes and 27 seconds under moderate temperatures. Even more impressively, it can reach an 80% charge from 10% in a mere 3 minutes and 44 seconds. This ultra-fast charging effectively eliminates "range anxiety" and the long wait times traditionally associated with electric vehicle ownership.
Does Rapid Charging Affect Battery Lifespan?
One of the most significant engineering challenges with rapid charging is battery degradation caused by excessive heat generation. CATL has addressed this through enhanced heat dissipation technologies and precise internal monitoring systems. The Shenxing 3 features a world-record low internal resistance of just 0.25 mΩ. As a result, the battery maintains a capacity retention rate of over 90%, even after undergoing 1,000 deep ultra-fast charge cycles, ensuring long-term durability and reliability for consumers.
What Is the Qilin 3 Battery Range?
Alongside the Shenxing 3, CATL also introduced the third generation of its Qilin battery architecture. Focused on maximum energy density, the Qilin 3 is designed to deliver a staggering driving range of up to 1,000 kilometers on a single charge. Weighing efficiently at 625 kg, this battery optimizes overall vehicle performance, improving acceleration, braking, and handling.
